After my credit score was fixed I purchased the property shown below...
At the time, The rents from the three units were...
Unit 1: $420
Unit 2: $925
Unit 3: $725
Total income $2,070.
At the time I was renting in Hollywood and paying $1,400 per month, so buying this property and living in one of the units and collecting rent on the other two units was far better situation than renting an apartment (not factoring in tax benefits and principal pay down on my loan).
However I had a better idea.. I could remodel the two of the front units and then take out a low interest rate, home equity line of credit against the property. Demolish the back unit and build two units in its place with the banks' money.
